Process Refrigeration Systems

proc-fridge2_1.jpgProcess Refrigeration Systems

These refrigeration systems are considered for use in industry specific facilities.  The use of these systems differs from typical industrial refrigeration systems in respect to the stringent specifications for materials of construction, electrical classification (explosion or water-proof), or instrumentation requirements.

The range of operating applications can consist of:

  • Chemical producers
  • Petro-chemical facilities
  • Refineries
  • Air or natural gas separation plants
  • Pharmaceutical production, or
  • Storage of liquefied gases at atmospheric pressures

Due to the strict operating parameters required to meet the temperature control requirements in process refrigeration systems it is common to find much more elaborate control valves.  While industrial refrigeration systems normally use self-contained compact pressure regulators, the process requirements for strict temperature control normally feature PLC or computer driven controls.

Other features found in process refrigeration system control valves can be block, bleed, or bypass valves.  Again, the viability of the process is paramount to maintain therefore these and other precautions are utilized to deliver maximum reliability and flexibility to meet the process requirements
